Personal Care Closet Ministry

The Personal Care Closet Ministry is being run in partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey and the Derry Township Social Ministry food banks. The Personal Care Closet is a place where select Love INC clients and families of five or more who are clients of our partner food banks can receive personal care, household, and baby items like toothpaste, laundry detergent, and diapers - items not covered by food stamps.

Our Hershey partner churches, local civic clubs, businesses, individuals, and The Hershey Public Library collect donated personal care products for Love INC. Volunteers pick up donated product from the various collection sites. They also manage the inventory and distribution of the items from the New Life Church of Hershey, who has donated a large room for Love INC to use as a mini-warehouse.

As an outreach, each month Love INC volunteers from four different churches bag and deliver the requested items directly to the families. Currently, 175 individuals in Hershey benefit from this ministry.

Please visit our Wish List page for the current list of personal care products needed in this ministry.

A Love Story

Timely donation makes a perfect match -
A single mom with 6 children called to find out more about us. We learned the family was totally dependent on the food bank for their food and was doing without many personal and household basics. We were able to give the family $30 worth of needed feminine hygiene products for her 3 teenage daughters because they were just donated earlier that day.
