The Parsonage Ministries

The Parsonage Ministry serves caregivers and families of patients who need short-term accommodations while they receive treatment at the nearby Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Located in quiet, safe neighborhoods, The Parsonage at Spring Creek and Union Deposit are short distances from the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center offering caregivers, primarily adults, the opportunity to be near their loved one during a health crisis. The Parsonages provide all the comforts of home to our guests with a family-style retreat that’s ideal for relaxation and recovery.

The Parsonages are currently serving families of patients of the transplant, oncology, and hematology services and the Heart and Vascular Institute. Forty to forty-five volunteers from 10 different churches care for our guests and the home on a monthly basis.

The Parsonage at Spring Creek opened in September 2008 as a home away from home for the families of patients at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Our partner church, Spring Creek Church of the Brethren in Hershey, allows Love INC to use and operate their lovely historic four-bedroom home.

In May 2012, Love INC transformed Zion Lutheran Church of Union Deposit's former parsonage into Love INC's second home away from home.

A Love Story

Her husband is in the hospital, and she has nowhere to stay-
When Marie's husband was transferred from a hospital over 2 hours away to the Hershey Medical Center with a serious heart condition, she stayed by his bedside around the clock for five days, sleeping in a chair. The Parsonage provided Marie a place to stay free of charge and the forgotten basics: a bed to sleep in, a hot shower, and a cup of tea. With the caring support of Love INC volunteers, Marie was close to her husband during his health issues without the extra financial strain of a hotel bill.
